Carlisle Mountaineering Club
CMC Club Hut in Newlands Valley

Carlisle Mountaineering Club has a long history in the English Lake District and further afield.

There are regular meets throughout the Spring and Summer and Winter weekend meets usually in Scotland with wall climbing sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights..

Alpine Guiding

Neil Hitchings lives near Chamonix and is a great guy to have on the sharp end of your rope or to lead down the Vallee Blanche.

Highlander Mountaineering
Pete Hill is holder of the Mountain Instructor Certificate, the highest UK instructional qualification, and is an Honorary Life Member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors, as well as past President of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland. He has led mountaineering expeditions to the Indian and Nepalese Himalaya, and was leader of an international expedition to Kashmir which made the first ascents of three previously unclimbed peaks. Notable Alpine ascents include the North Face of the Eiger and the North Face of the Matterhorn, both in winter, as well as a lot of eminently more sensible routes! November 2007. Pete has just returned from Nepal. Trips this winter will include Norway Ice as well as Nepal climbing and trekking
